WhatsApp alerts — setup and templates
WhatsApp Business alerts deliver critical findings to your phone with the highest read-rate of any channel.
Prerequisites
- WhatsApp Business API access (via Meta Business Manager) or a BSP like Kapso.
- Three approved templates (Meta approval takes 1–3 weeks):
secureops_critical— critical-finding alertsecureops_weekly— weekly progress digestsecureops_expiry— SSL/domain expiry imminent
Configuration
In your environment:

KAPSO_TEMPLATE_WEEKLY=secureops_weekly
KAPSO_TEMPLATE_EXPIRY=secureops_expiry
In the dashboard: Integrations → WhatsApp → Add recipient → enter phone number with country code → click Verify → recipient confirms with YES reply on WhatsApp.
Routing
By default, WhatsApp is reserved for critical only — to avoid alert fatigue. Move thresholds in Settings → Notifications.
Costs
Per-message conversation pricing varies by country ($0.005–$0.05). 24-hour reply window — once the recipient responds, free-form messaging is allowed for 24h.
