Browser extension — install and configuration

The browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox) checks every page you visit against your protected-domain list and paints a badge on the toolbar icon so risk is visible before you click through.

Quick install

  1. Dashboard → Integrations → Browser extension to find your API key.
  2. Install from the Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons (search "NoDowntimeShield").
  3. Open the extension's Options page (right-click the icon → Options) and paste your API key.

Badge colours

  • Green — scanned within 24 hours, grade A/B.
  • Amber — grade C/D, or last scanned more than 7 days ago.
  • Red — an open critical finding, or a lookalike-domain warning.
  • Grey — domain not in your org, or no API key configured.

Lookalike-domain warnings

If you land on a typosquat of one of your protected domains, a desktop notification fires immediately — you don't need to open the popup to see the warning.
